Dr. Jan Jaffer, Dentist
Hi there! My name is Dr. Jan Jaffer and the best thing about my profession is creating long lasting, lifetime relationships with my clients.
I attended University of the Pacific in San Francisco, where I was enrolled in a program, which consisted of two years of undergraduate school and three years of dental school. I graduated in 2002 with my DDS.
Ranchlands is a family business, and a family run business has always been a big part of my life. My dad is a dentist and from an early age I knew that dentistry was for me- it’s a decision I wouldn’t change! I find everyday a new challenge and get the opportunity to build relationships with my clients. We have some patients who come to us once they’ve moved out of the province. But, my favourite thing to see is when we have three generations sitting in our chairs- the two year old, the parent and the grandparent!
I am actively involved in giving back to the community, and I love every minute of it. I volunteer my time to Kindness in Action, a group of individuals motivated by rights to basic human needs that puts a focus on oral health. I am also involved with Dentistry for All, an organization that looks to educate, prevent and do corrective treatments for oral health. I was fortunate enough to volunteer in Guatemala twice in 2013 and in 2014 I will get to go to Peru and Guatemala!
In my free time I am active- I absolutely love Crossfit, am a certified ski instructor and a tennis instructor, though I usually take part in all of these activities for fun. I also love to snowboard, travel and learn new things. When it comes to education, I am always on the lookout to brush up on my skills.
Dr. Mebs Sayani, Dentist
Hi there, my name is Dr. Sayani! My biggest passions in life are my eleven year old daughter and helping people.
Growing up I always knew that I wanted to do something special, something that could make a difference and something that would allow me to help people (and helping people who cannot help themselves).
I studied pre-dentistry at the University of Calgary and upon graduation, I continued my education at the University of Alberta where I received my Bachelor of Science and my DDS. While I am a general practising dentist, I really enjoy working with patients that require root canals and crowns.
Ranchlands is a family business and very much a team oriented environment, which I love! We have the opportunity to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows our patients to feel at ease. My hope is that Ranchlands continues to grow, with our core values in mind, and to continue taking care of our patients and employees.
In my spare time, I like to be with my daughter and give back to the community. I have been very fortunate to work with the Kindness in Action charity for the last seven years, which has allowed me to travel to South America and Asia. I also love to keep fit! I have run the Sinister 7 race, along with the Canadian Death Race. This coming September, I will be participating in the Gran Fondo in Canmore – which takes hundreds of riders through the Canadian Rockies through to downtown Canmore.
It is my hope that we get a chance to meet with you in person to show you the care that we can provide! I really enjoy getting to know my patients and welcome you to contact our clinic so we can work on that great smile of yours!

I love my profession because it allows me to constantly develop new connections and form lasting relationships. The greatest thing I can accomplish is providing quality dental care to keep clients healthy and happy. I strive to achieve my goals by being thorough and gentle.
Apart from work...
I love spending time with my husband and our pomeranian. In my spare time I enjoy volunteering for Calgary Reads and working with 3M on the Council for Innovative Dental Hygiene.
